(Day 5)

Well, I came home for lunch and hit 1:10:72 in the Brab. a new personal
best. The company I work for got bigger today (merger) so there were some ad
hoc festivities after work and I had a few drinks. Got home and learned the
hard way: DON"T DRINK AND DRIVE. I came back to it a couple hours after I
got home but couldn't even beat 12. Still, the 10.7 gives me hope. Finally
starting to understand how to get into the big bend (my biggest problem).
Actually all the curves are problems in that I have a hard time holding the
line. I think I'm going to take a break (and some advice) and spend a bit of
time in Germany.  Wish me luck.

Also, if anyone knows how to get CH pedals working (without attaching them
to a joystick) let me know. I've got the pedals sitting around taking up
space winking at me. I think it is high time I put them to work. (I've
considered buying a cheap joystick to attach them to but I wouldn't even
know where to start.)

Drive the Cooper, try Allison Hine's Cooper setups (easy to come to grips
with), set your pedals to split axis so that you can do proper braking and
throttling, don't charge into corners, but rather go in easy and aim for a
clean exit, and finally, don't take GPL so goddammed seriously (unless you
simply *must* obtain the status of Huttu or Woeger in order to be personally
satisfied, which is fine by me :)!

Go to www.deja.com and do a search, this has been explained quite
often lately.
