Having monitored this group I know that the ICR2 demo is "out there" on
the Papyrus BBS but as the file is 6+meg I am not going to try to
download it from Australia, I have checked ftp.std.com/vendors/papyrus
but it is not there....the Papyrus HomePage was last modified 2/11 so no
mention there, ftp.papy.com won't let me log on anonomous so I (along
with many others) would appreciate if someone (not directed at Rick)
could post it some where and post where we can get it.

Thanks in advance.

The demo will be placed at ftp://ftp.std.com/vendors/papyrus some time
this week. We have to clear space out for it first :-). Also, there will
supposedly be a link added to our web page that will point there at some
point.

There will be a coupon in the box for a free win95 version when it
is available

I found it a waste of download time, as you cannot change
any setups in the garage. And woe be those who dont have
the machine to run it in SVGA, as the VGA mode is so
heavily pixilated, it looks 100% WORSE than ICR did.

Well I don't know what your beef with papyrus is, but...

a) the demo is just enough to entice people who have ICR to buy
ICR 2. After all, if you could do *everything* you wouldn't have
any reason to buy it.

I will admit though that if I didn't already own ICR I would be
too discouraged by the setups given to want to buy ICR 2.

b) In vga mode, it looks a little better to me than icr did. I was
surprised. "pixilated" is not a real word and I don't know what you
mean by it -- the detail of the track seems the same, and the grass
color at laguna is even correct.

Try changing the setups manually from DOS. There are four setup files
in each track directory; simply copy the one you want to default.st1.
It really makes a difference. BTW, the showstg.exe for Indycar I
seems to work with the new .stg files.

icr2demo.exe *is* the zipped file. Its a self extracing exe. At 6.7mb
you just have to lump the download/ftp time.

The icr2demo.exe is a self extracting package... so it's as
good as zipped...

IndyCar Racing II for DOS includes a coupon for obtaining IndyCar Racing
II for Windows 95 when it is released for a nominal fee ($5-$10). I don't
know how this will be handled outside the US; presumably through ***
UK.

What about Mac  I have both, but will only be able to run the DOS in
VGA and want the Mac version.
<<<

Like the Windows 95 version, IndyCar Racing II for Macintosh has been
delayed until next year. We want to make sure we do it right and get the
best performance and quality possible. It'll be worth the wait...

I just want to say that you guys are *GREAT*, Rick!  That is excellent
news as I *really* wanted to buy it right off the bat, but wanted the
Win95 version too.  This sim is just so much better than the original
& NASCAR, that I am having a hard time waiting until I can get it next
week.
