Turns out that didn't solve the problem...  I had
my controls mapped to keyboard just for testing and
everything worked OK.  As soon as I switched to
wheel and pedal controls, it locked up :(

Where can I get the latest MS joystick port
drivers?

Haven`t had your problems Pat, but had some of my own, all of which
dissapeared if I ran in plain software mode, some updated drivers for my
Hercules card later, and I could run Rendition online

So have you tried running non-rendition ?

I don't know why, but that is the only thing I
hadn't tried.  Last night I did and it ran fine
with no lock-ups all night.

So, is there some incompatability between the
K6-2 and my Screamin' 3d, or rendition cards
in general?  I guess I'm stuck with software
mode until I buy a new card.

What surprises me is that I still get 30 fps
w/all details on in software mode.  It doesn't
look as good but fps is fine.

Have you also tried both with and without the dma switch ?

Could be that your controller and rendition card uses the same dma, just
a wild guess on my part, or an I/O conflict that doesn`t show

I`ve come across this with nework cards, couldn`t get a PC to log onto a
Novell network, switched the I/O adress and it worked fine, and the card
was not faulty, it was just that the conflict didn`t show up, have
encountered that one a couple of times since, but it`s a shot in the
dark really

At some tracks, Bull Run for instance, you will have better frame rate
in plain software mode, even on a Hercules Thriller 8MB, go figure, it
stutters like hell in some turns

I've found that using the -4 switch offline works very well.  Especially
at
bullrun, takes all  the hiccups right out.  Don't know if that option is
available
via NROS since I've never done the TEN deal.  Later.
