Burnout & SHRA press release

by Mach » Thu, 23 Apr 1998 04:00:00

Since the relase of Bethesda's title; Burnout: Championship Drag Racing, the
Simulated Hot Rod Association, www.armageddon-gamig.com/SHRA/, has opened
its doors to more than 470 members, and has been officially endorsed by
Bethesda Softworks, and backed by MPlayer.
Now, as the start of the SHRA season nears, Hot Rod Magazine and 2 other
national magazines have agreed to publish the standings of SHRA. Bethesda is
going to be supplying prizes for the top drivers of each class. The SHRA is
growing at a fast rate, and with this great news, we expect to have
thousands of members by the time we start our regular season.

What is the SHRA all about?
The SHRA is the official Burnout, online racing league. Hundreds of drag
racers will get together every week to fight it out for the title.

When will the SHRA race?
Well, that all depends on what day you sign up to race on. There are 30+
divisions in Open Bracket racing. You can sign up for any one day and that
will be the day of the week you, and the 15 others in your division, will
race on. The short season begins the first week of June.

Where will the SHRA race?
SHRA will hold all of it's races online thru the MPlayer service. MPlayer,
with it's support for the 32 player Burnout: Championship Drag Racing , will
be an ideal place for us all to meet and race in the very competitive
series.

Will there be any prizes?
Yes! We are working on that right now. With the support from Bethesda that
we are recieving, we are hoping to have some cool stuff for the winners of
each class.

What do I need to do to join the SHRA?
Purchase Bethesda's Burnout: Championship Drag Racing, create an account
with MPlayer, and sign up, thats pretty much it. Make sure you let us know
what day is best for you to race.
