Turtle Beach problems?

Has anyone had problems with a Turtle Beach sound card? i.e., freeze-ups
in sim programs, not recognizing joysticks, etc.
Also, a friend of mine doesn't have the joystick icon in Win95's control
panel. Does anyone know why that would occur?
