N3 no sound with A3D Turtle Beach II

What's with my sound setup?  When loading N3, setup detects that I have a 16
bit sound card.  Indeed the test sound and all the intro sounds are great.
When I get to the game however, all I hear is a very shallow sound from my
own car.  Can't hear the spotter at all and can't hear any of the other
cars.  Anybody know what gives?  When I revert back to 8-bit, I get all the
spotter sounds as well as the other cars but sound is still pretty cheezy?
Any help would be appreciated.

I just adjust the volume levels to compensate :)

Check the manufacturer of your PC's website, and see if they have an updated
sound driver for the TBII. That's if you bought it OEM with the PC.
In my case, Dell had an updated TBII sound driver. I just downloaded and
installed the new driver following the directions in the readme file that
comes with it, and it works like a charm now. I had the same exact situation
as you. Could not hear spotter unless I changed it to 8-bit, and also could
not get reflections to work. This new driver took care of both probs...I run
in 16 bit and have reflections turned on...big difference in quality.

Now if you bought the card off the shelf and installed it, you should go to
http://www.voyetra-turtle-beach.com/site/default.asp
and load the 208 drivers. These will update you to A3D 2.0
Just make sure you follow the directions.
