If anyone has this combination and notices that the Game Profiler
locks every time you go to use it, heres my story..

I wanted to set my pedals up to be on a seperate axis. Got an email
(Thanks again Rob) explaining that you need to create a GPL setup ands
select "Seperate Axis" in the MS Game Profiler.. Welll, thing is, went
to run it and EVERY time I selected New or Edit it was locked solid.
Would close Game Profiler and all was fine, but couldn't get my GPL
setup put in.. Upgraded to ver. 3.02, same problem. Went onto a MS
Force Feedback newsgroup and wouldn't ya know it, everyone with a
Matrox G200 had the same problem. Its the Matrox Video Drivers!

Sooo, if you have this combo reload the Matrox 4.11 drivers and it
works fine, or you can get ver. 2.0 of the Profiler software and I
hear that may work also...

BTW, I am EXTREMELY pleased with the MS FF Wheel, thank you to the
people that answered my questions about its capabilities..

If you look at the sidewinder readme library in the Sidewinder
Central applet you will see that this card had problems with
the Sidewinder. In fact I was quite surprise at the number of
games and soundcards which these documents say are
problematic. FWIW, Nascar Racing 2 was one such title.
All of the Diamond Monster Mx soundcards are listed and
quite a number of others. Worth reading IMHO. In some cases
they provide work arounds.

Yes the wheel is good. However it;s DOS support is somewhat
spotty. WHile I can get N2 to work with this controller, the pot
readings are really all over the place, and my car ends up ticking
to the right. Not bad enough to be undrivable, but bad enough
to make me return the wheel if I cant find a fix.

Obsolutely no arguement there. The pedals are awesome. I found
the gear change paddles to be very inconvienient though. I cracked
my wrists quite often trying to hold the wheel and be able to manipulate
the gears. What blows me away, is that MS claims their wheel was
designed by real race drivers.  I have no idea who they had for real race
drivers, but they must be total back markers or something. The wheel is
not ergonomic at all for me. In fact I returned it today. I'm going to wait
and see what the TM,Logitech and Actlabs Force RS wheels are like.

Too bad it didn't work out for you Greg... I find the shifters are in
the  exact spot my fingers land... justr lucky I guess. I love the
wheel and the way you have 4 settings for resistance (return to center
force)..

I think you are going to like the feel of the TM FF wheel, the shifter
paddles are in a great location and the feel of the wheel should almost
make you smell the burning ***....

You sound like a beta tester or something. Have you tried it with
any DOS games like... um... N2 or NR1999?
