This automatic message has been updated on 7/10/96:

Regarding your Grand Prix II inquiry:

Grand Prix II will provide the ultimate in realism, with every aspect of the
Formula One circuit re-created with incredible accuracy and detail. In
addition to the actual courses that make up the Grand Prix circuit, the game
will include full pitching and rolling, spectacular crashes, engine blowups,
enhanced camera views, a replay feature, five levels of opponent ability, and
richly detailed 3-D effects.

We have made some significant enhancements over the last several months, most
notably, the addition of spectacular crashes in the game.  We anticipate
shipping Grand Prix II mid to late Summer. We don't have a "specific" release
date: like many other publicly traded companies, we are cautious when giving
release dates. It is our policy to give seasons only.

The current system requirements are:
IBM PC 486 DX4-100 Mhz
8 MB RAM
DOS 5.0 or higher
Double Speed CD-ROM
VGA and SVGA graphics
SoundBlaster,Gravis,ProAudio Spectrum
Modem play supported

There is NO network play in Grand Prix II.
We don't have information about resellers or distributors overseas

GP2 LATEST FROM SPECTRUM HOLOBYTE!

I have a question: I have a 486/dx2/66 and can get 20-22 fps with icr2 with
most detail turned off (SVGA).  Now, Mark at SRN has reported (in the July
issue) that GP2 performs very comparably to ICR2 in regards to frame rate and
such.  My question is: which report is correct -- and can I run GP2 on my
system without upgrading??

Also, how much will you save ordering by phone instead of a retail outlet??

The actual box that the game will come in has been in stores for many
months now & says right on it that a 486DX2-66 is required.
