CMR3 patch sound problem

Installed the patch for Colin Mcrae 3. FF works better now, good fps.
BUT.
With my Asus A7N8X onboard sound i now get strange buzzing sound from
the car. Copilot and other sounds are good. Other games run fine.
Who knows an answer to this problem?

Sorry no answer, but I've had exactly the same problem.  I've posted a support call to Codemasters & they are working on it.  For now I've re-installed the game without the patch - there's an option on uninstall to keep your settings & saved games (including cheats) and this works fine.
