It is true that we've been acquired by Sierra.

What does this mean? We are still Papyrus Design Group, Inc., though we
are now a wholly owned subsidiary of Sierra. We are continuing to work on
the leading edge racing simulations you've known (and will come to know)
and loved. None of the projects we had underway before the acquisition
have been affected one iota by the acquisition. We will also now be able
to expand our horizons and work on new, non-racing simulation games which
may or may not be published under the Papyrus label.

Sierra bought Papyrus because they didn't have a killer racing sim. They
aren't going to "fix" something if it isn't broken.

Have plans changed for the new network?
Will it be on Sierras Imagination network?
When will it be available?

Thanks

I don't mind driving LSL car as long there is paintkit available, but I
do have a question about dos-version of IndyCar Racing 2:

Sierra is committed in making Windows 95 games, but at this time I'm not
really interested about Win95.  Will there be patches for dos ICR2?  Not
just dos->win upgrade CD, but ones that fix bugs in dos version and keep the
game running under dos?

This is good news, but I'm concerned about Papyrus working on
non-racing simulation games. If you don't aquire a great number of new
staff members, won't this slow your work on the racing sims?

Also, how does this affect the Papyrus multi-player racing? Will we
now have to connect to Sierra, or will this remain in-house?

Rick,

I really hope this is true!  You guys do an EXCELLENT job with the
racing sims, hate to see is "tainted" by Sierra's ideas, of what is
good.  (not a big Sierra fan myself)
Will this affect the network you guys were talking about?  Sure hope
it WON'T end up on INN. (or whatever it's called)  To rich for my
***. :(    While on the subject, how will delays, and warps be
handled?  Will the connections be tested before we can race?

Thanks,
Andy

I am sorry Rick, but Indycar II is far from complete as released. The
pitting strategy of the AI as well as the yellow flag AI is just not
finished. I sure wish something would get tested more before it left the
shop. I hope that Sierra can and will fix that.

I don't think so, but I really don't know; I'm not on the multiplayer
project.

Does this mean you weren't working on NASCAR 95 before the acquisition?

We *have* "acquired a great number of new staff members". It doesn't take
75 R&D people to produce IndyCar II...

Also, how does this affect the Papyrus multi-player racing? Will we

At this time the acquisition has had no effect on our planned multiplayer
service.
