Geforce2-AMD problem

by Han Monsee » Sat, 29 Jul 2000 04:00:00

Hi,

I have a AMD-Athlon 1000 MHz CPU, AMI K7 Pro Mainboard and Hercules Prophet
II GTS (Geforce II 32 MB) card.

In some games (Grand Prix Legends and GP3 which I just bought), the screen
sometimes freezes but the sound continues. Other games such as TOCA2 or
FIFA99 run fine.

Does anybody know:

a) If this problem is related to having a combination of an AMD CPU and
chipset and a Geforce2 card?

b)If not, could it be overheating?

c)Is there a cure (new drivers maybe if case a is true, an additional fan in
case b)

greetings,
hgrm

Yes, set the CPU to run at 950 MHz, GP3 and GPL have fixed fps and in
order to determine the correct fps on your machine, they use the CPU
frequency. However, they have reserved only 3 digits for the CPU speed,
so your 1000 MHz CPU fill cause them to divide by 0.

LOL.

Dennis.
