NFSPU, can they keep this up..?

The guys at NFS seem to have hit the nail pretty much on the head with
Porsche Unleashed. Unfortunately, judging from the development in past NFS
titles, that's probably no guarantee for comparable quality in future NFS
games. For instance: I personally liked NFS 3, but I didn't care much for
NFS 4.
So what do you think: will Motor City be just as good or even better than
NFS PU, car physics-wise? Or could it just as well be some screwed up game?

Hard to say.  The physics engine from Motor City is allegedly not the
same as the engine used in Porsche Unleashed.  Also, there has
reportedly been some fairly substantial employee turnover following
the arrival of Mark Ryder, late of GT Interactive.  This has suggested
to some folks that Motor City may be delayed.  Then again, none of
this may have any effect on the quality or production schedule.  Time
will tell.

Mention was made in a preview of a "four point" physics model for the Motor
City game as well...

hmm i thought nfs 3 was much worse than 4, which was better in most
departments, the games seem to be getting better and better, thought 2
and 3 were worse than the first one.

IMO ;)

I've always felt that the car's engines felt and sounded sort of 'whiny' in
NFS 4, very annoying.

You must surely mean:
"... *though* 2 and 3 were worse than the first one"? If not, you're
contradicting yourself... :-)

I guess it would be stupid if they didn't use it, so let's hope for the
best. Apart from that, the screenshots seem more than ok, IMO.

One thing that should be noted is....EA Canada developed NFS1 and NFS
5.....All the other NFS's were not made by EA Canada....NFSMC is not being
developed by EA Canada so I would expect it to have a more arcade feel based
on the history of non EA Canada NFS's

Funny, I read that it was the same, in a couple different articles.

Everyone knows all the best game developers are here in Vancouver
(nudge nudge, wink wink). ;-)

Like this one for example....

"Motor City is set in one of the classic periods of the last century (wow,
that feels wierd) and features all manner of american muscle cars of the
time. Based on a heavily modified version of the Porsche Unleashed engine,
we can expect some of the same awesome collisions and great handling"

I have since read that it is a "heavily modified" version of the
Porsche Unleashed engine.  Let's face it, kids.  We're all in
RumorLand here.  :P

"Great handling" is not what I think of when I think of classic American muscle
cars.
