The fastest API possible for Rendition is RRedline. This is as close as
you can get to a "native" API. No API is truly native, but RRedline is as
close as you get (like Glide for 3dfx users). This should mean that
Rendition cards would work better with RRedline than OpenGL.
Last night I brought the OpenGL patch home from work and tested it on my
Stealth II (rendition). It was a little bugged, but it brought out between
10 and 11 fps during practice... It look quite ok, though, it really did.
So I guess the TNT users will be mightily happy with this. Should be
interesting to see performance figures for this patch on a TNT...
I think the only thing that will help you and your system is a faster
CPU... The Thriller is just fine, both with your current cpu and your
future PII...
