I race nascar2 on a p200 with a matrox milliminum video card.  I seem to
be getting about 20 fps.  Is it worth buying a rendition card like the
screamin 3d card from sierra to inprove my frame rate.  How much will
this card inprove my frame race and drivabilty of the game.

I am currently running the Screamin 3D card and it makes a BIG difference.
I really can't give you a framerate put I will tell you I can run
everythihg wide open and it doesn't even begin to show any jerkyness.
However in Win95 I see a very very very slight hesitation sometimes.  It
did take me a little while to get the card to run flawlessly.  What I
mean is there are 2 versions of the 3d version of nascar2.  One runs the
normal 3d mode while the other uses DMA (direct memory access).  This
is the mode you want.If your motherboard is PCI 2.1 complaint there should
be no problem.  As far as my system it is a 166  with 32 megs of ram and
like i said it will run in the DMA 3d version EVERYTHING ON AND NO
JERKYNESS.  I recommend the Screamin 3D 100%.

Good Luck,

John

Except for a couple of the short tracks (Martinsville & Bristol), you
should be able to get close to 30 fps except during starts and in
extremely heavy traffic.  This is with all detail turned on.  That's
what i get with my Intergraph card and p166.  With the new patch using
the -4 switch (4-bit colors) you might do well in Martinsville & Bristol
also.
