Need For Speed III is the best all-around racing game  available on the PSX.
(Before you start flaming, Gran Turismo is a simulation)  Track design is
excellent, the car handling in arcade mode is perfect!  (It's too bad cars
don't handle like this in real life).  Graphics are top notch; the lighting
effects at night really have to be seen.  Their are nine tracks, plus five
"hidden" ones.  There are many different modes: tournament, knockout, single
race, hot pursuit, and practice.  Hot pursuit is an absolute blast!
Basically, you do whatever it takes to avoid the cops; force them off the
road, or into incoming traffic, take shortcuts, whatever.  You can hear them
yelling at you over their PA's; it's a riot.
I'm still playing this game, even though Gran Turismo has been hogging the
PSX.  If you're a PSX owner, NFS III, and Gran Turismo are two must haves.

Hi,

Has anyone got this yet, and is it any good? - i.e. more like NFS than NFS2?

Also having a look around EA's website, it looks like there aren't any 'road'
courses.... they only seem to have 'tracks'. Is this so?

If it is.... wasn't that one of the single most disliked feature of NFS? How the
hell didn't they pick up on that?
