In the context of a general *** site, i'd agree. However, niche's exist,
and he's well inside a FPS/Arcade thrills site. I still think it's a fair
review of NASCAR 4, and (rightly or wrongly) his opinion of the Nascar
fanbase is fairly right on for his niche as well.

Doesn't make it right- and doesn't mnake it wrong either. It's just one
persons opinion.

I judge some of them to be just that, first, because one poster in here said,
and I quote, "Offensive e-mail to reviewer dispatched >:(".  I'll leave to you
the job of identifying the poster of the above quoted line.  

Secondly, having been a reader and a poster in the Usenet newsgroups for some
10+ years, I think I know what kind of behavior is going to surface when any
kind of post of this nature finds its way on to the web.  I'm sure there were
plenty of emails fired off to the reviewer, exhibiting 3rd-grade level grammar
and the odd four letter word thrown in for effect.

The day Dale was taken from us, I began writing a column that was posted to
the internet the next day, and in it one thing I pointed out was that there
were going to be a lot of pseudo-NA$CAR fans coming out the woodwork and
screaming that Dale was dead because of Sterling Marlin.  I do not confess to
being a complete expert on the nature of humankind but, there are a few things
I think I can safely predict and usually time bears out my forecasts.  
Response to that review of N4 is just such an event.

All I will say, is that any e-mails the reviewer recieved that were
genuinely offensive or containing foul language were deserved because his
review was also offensive and contained foul language.  I'm not sure we
should care for his good opinion of us.

I have sent an angry email, and got the following reply;

nothing better to do, so we gave it to him to review, not considering the
consequences. We agree it was totally unprofessional for us to post it, but
we felt that Tyler was entitled to his own opinion. If you don't wan't to
see any more of him on Game-Guru, please direct caustic flames to his email.
I have the feeling that if he gets enough hate mail, his writing will either
improve or his self esteem will drop so far he'll "take a break" from
writing. Either way, the world will be a better place :) We will put up a
formal apology soon, and hope to get a second opinion up as well. Again, we
are very sorry for the review.
