TOCA sound

I am having a bit of fun playing toca, which is better than I thought.
BUT:
I think the In-car sounds are a bit off what real Super Tourers sound
like. The diff-whine is GREAT, but, I miss some real "snarl" from the
engine. Have anybody started to look into this? Or is the engine sound
dependant on the sound card? I think the Pits have made a much better
engine sound (or sounds)..how long before somebody improves TOCA?

All Best,
Matt

Well, I personally feel they sound a lot like the BTCC races we get on
TV. I think the whine is due to the gears being straight-cut as opposed
to helical cut in normal cars. Close enough !

Yup, The whine part is correct, and works great, but all the other
sounds are too loud. Believe me, you can't hear raindrops hitting your
windshield in a racing car..
I guess the sound is o.k, but I was sort of surprised that it was "off"
compared to the other aspects of the game, i.e different looks & sounds
of the A.I cars, the graphics detail etc..
Maybe I should go sample some noise from my race mini, with s/c gears:)
