You can get the ENGLISH version from http://www.f1racingsim.com/
and let me promise this is a SIM not an ARCADE like most of the other
supposed "Racing Sims" out there. In my opinion it is better than INDYCAR 2,
NASCAR 2, F1 97, and GRAND PRIX 2, TOCA TOURING CARS, and SUPER TOURING
CARS. The last two are not even in the same league as the rest of them as
they are very much "ARCADE" types.

IMHO, Ubisoft has managed to excell where others have failed in that they have
produced a product which can be enjoyed by drivers at any level, from rank
beginner to expert simmers. The Easy mode is a nearly perfect arcade type
game, fairly easy to drive with good built-in set ups. As you progress thru the
different levels, the game gets more like a simulator, set-ups are more
crucial, the AI is tougher to beat, and the cars get much faster.

There is already a good bunch of utilities and editors available online, so you
are able to upgrade the sim to the 98 cars, drivers, helmets and names.

Buy it, you will not regret it! I only wish Ubisoft was doing the next CART
sim.

            < Snip >

   Some love it, some don't.

I love it because it captures the feeling of driving a real
car fast on the race courses where I watch my favorite sport
being contested.

But I only have experience in road cars.  Some think F1 cars
would feel and drive totally different than road cars, and
believe this falls short of being a sim.  I have never seen an
F1 driver post here, so I don't know.

Hey, I'll never drive a real Ferrari F1 car.  If this isn't
accurate, I can live with that.

I wouldn't call it a 'driving sim' but I have to say it's the best 'racing sim' in my book. The races are absorbing down to the last detail. Download every FAQ you can find because it's a beast to use and get running. Once you have it running though you'll never look back.

I have another question.  It says that it requires a 3D accelerator and
then goes on to list several.  The Rendition cards were conspicuously
absent from the list.  Are all those cards natively supported or is the
support using Direct3D (in which case the Rendition cards should work,
right?) Anybody running F1RS with a Rendition card?

I have read that it should work on any Direct3D video card. But
your performance/milage may vary :-)  For the very best, 3dfx is
the only choice, as it is natively supported.

Any Direct 3D card with 4MB onboard.  :-)

Hi Karl!

An it IS good ;-))

Orginally F1RS is a sim, a quite "***-sim"...but you can adjust the
level from "realistic" to "arcade" (I won't do that).

Also, man mailt sich...
