Ok, I finally saw that little post in the readme.txt that says GP2 uses
8250 uarts by default because they are backward compatible and that this
may cause your modem games to be painfully S L O W.
No shit.
I used the "gp2 use16550" to load GP2 and modem games as SO much faster now.
I have one simple question... Why, on a game that requires a P150 for
suitable playing pleasure, would 8250 uarts (common on 386s and early
486s) be used by default?
Are these people totally stupid?
