I have made a short-cut to f1gp.bat on my desktop, then right click on the
shortcut, then click on properties. find the folder that says, "memory" and go
to that. You want to change the conventional memory from "auto" to 600k. That's
all I needed, no re-booting or anything. My dad has had problems with it also,
but his disk is compressed, and he has to reboot. Oh, I also don't have an
autoexec.bat or config.sys file, so I don't have anything loading up into
memory when I boot. If you still have these files, you may have to mess with it
more to get it to work.

What you can do is REM out any stuff you don't need in your autoexec.bat and
config.sys files if you still have them. It's best if you can do without them
altogether and let win95 use 32bit protected mode drivers for everything. But if
things don't work without loading them in your bootup files, then leave them there.
I know that if your disk is compressed, you will have a hard time getting enough
memory because of drvspace stuff that automatically loads up. The PLUS! addition has
a better drivespace, that will allow almost all of your conventional memory to free
up when going to dos stuff, this fixed it for my dad. If you have more trouble, let
me know, and I may try to help out further.
