Try using the video:vesa switch at the command line when running GP2.
That
fixed it with me.

I purchased a Mystique and took it back the next day.  I had the same
problem you do.  If you go to low res mode, (look in the manual), it will
play the game.  There seems to be some problem with the VESA driver.  I
did actually get it to work but not reliably.

Hope you get it working.   DAN

Go to the matrox web and download the bios upgrade to ver. 1.3, it fixed
my locked up problem in GP2, so it should fix yours too.

Bye

Hi, Norm

I had the same problem. It seems to be cured now. I've went to the
Matrox site:
 www.matrox.com
and downloaded the
 bios130.zip file

Hope it works for you--

I upgraded to bios ver 1.3 and now it works fine (running it in F8
command prompt dos mode). If I try to run it in win 95 though I get some
clicks from the internal speaker so I only run it in dos now (I think
you are supposed to anyway ?????).

Yeah...I have the same problem, when I run it in Win95 (which is a viable
alternative for me, thank you very much :-) it gets very loud "clicks" now
with 1.3 BIOS.  Also, when I re-boot from Win95 to MS-DOS prompt, same thing.
Very annoying.  Solved one problem and introduced another...oh well.

BTW, SB32PnP, P166, 64MB, Matrox Mystique 2MB, T2.
