N3 Challenge update

by Tracey Hick » Tue, 29 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Hey this is just to clear up any questions and complaints i have
received.  Here are the updated settings i'm going with.

Saturday 6pm eastern time US

Echo Arena

password          "plus"

Talladega (i feel this track is a purpose serving track because you must
be patience and you have to know when to make a move for the win, not
too early not too late)

50% race length (this was changed because of...)

Damage is on realistic

FIXED setup (sorry can't change this just because i want this to be a
driver challenge, not a test of your crew crief program or download
site's setup)

( DONT WORRY i will hold another one with something like califronia with
damage and free setup)

Pace lap

Yellow Flags, player breakdowns, and double file restarts will now be on

Well, let me know how you liek the changed race settings and i hope to
see you there
(is this better dean??????)

Hi Tracey,

Although I won't be participating in your race, I recommend turning player
breakdowns off.  This does not mean you cannot wear out the tires or blow
the engine due to overreving or a crash.  It just means you will not be
taken out due to a random variable set by the computer.  In the first N3PRC
race we had one very talented driver lose the engine on the pace lap :-(  He
did not rev above 6000 rpms. After 3 hours of practice it is not fair to go
out in such a fashion.  We can take ourselves out of the race in a much more
glorious manor ;-)

My thoughts,
Jason.

Hi Tracey,

Much better.  Thanks.  If I can make it, I'd love to race with you.  I don't
know if I can though because I'm on the west coast and that's 3:00 in the
afternoon for me.  My neighbour has a 15 year old son that like to race me.
It's quite pathetic because he has zero patience, and little experience.  He
usually wrecks in the first 5 laps. I'd like to see how you race.

What's your connection to the internet like.  I'm asking because I'm on the
west coast.

Settings look good.  You might want to turn off player breakdowns though.
Just my opionion.

Dean (Decawi on WON)

P.S.  Were you okay with the other post?  Sorry if you weren't.

At 50% I hope you have a lot of patience.  Because if you wreck, you have to
leave it running for almost 2 hours.

Best of luck if I'm not able to make it.

Nope in on line racing it only resets you.

You are joking right Charlie?  I hope so.  Shift+R is not an option if you
are hosting.  Sure you might be able to do it, but you would reset all the
racers (you know, the one's that didn't wreck) at the same time.

Now I'm confused.  What purpose would this serve?  You can't disconnect can
you? You are still out of the race.  You can't restart racing because
everyone else will still be racing wont they?

Hmm...

You can't shift-R in a race on the software Nascar Racing 3.  I think you
may confuse it with Grand Prix Legends ;)

What I meant to say is you can shift-R during the practice sessions and it
will reset you and not the rest of the field's times (when racing the AI it
resets everything). When racing online you can hit shift-r and it will reset
only you back to your pit stall. Only during the practice sessions not the
race.

He was talking about racing, not practicing
