GPL - new force feedback problem

I have just reinstalled win 2k with the express purpose of making GPL
work again, after it had died on the old install. GPL now works just
fine, BUT without any ff through my Guillemot wheel. I have carefully
and lovingly checked and rechecked the core.ini settings to make sure
that the ff switch is set to 1, but nowt happens.

Have you any suggestions? FF works fine in all other racing sims I
have installed, but lets be honest, only one really counts :)

That would be core.ini, not core.ini.txt right? Check from a command prompt,
or remind me that I'm teaching grandma to suck eggs ;-)
