Due to repeated requests, ECCI has made a limited number of MOMO compatible
6000-series pedals for sale. These are a direct pedal unit replacement for
either the Red Momo or Black Momo force feedback controls. Just plug into
the Momo wheel and you are ready to go. These come with or without ECCI's
proprietary PMB (pressure modulated brake).

Hey Andy,

Despite the shamelessly commercial cant of yer msg., I can personally
testify that this is a DYNAMITE combination.  (Full disclosure: I paid full
retail for my 6000 pedals...and wouldn't sell 'em for any price.)

First off, let me say that I am in no way affiliated with ECCI other than
being a customer. Nobody at ECCI has asked that I post this, nor have I
discussed this with them.

That being said, I purchased a 6000 series pedals set for Christmas. I
ordered it with the PMBII. Since then, I have logged many miles with them.
The biggest challenge was getting used to the PMB as it provides for very
stiff resistance at its factory default setting. For a while I was
threatening to reduce this stiffness, but decided to keep trying it instead.
Ultimately, I did get used to it and now I am extremely happy with the
combination. One thing that was key was learning how best to calibrate the
pedals. Instead of calibrating the brake over the full range of motion, I
calibrate just to the point of moderate resistance. Since discovering this,
I have been able to set new personal bests in GPL in large part to the
ability to have a much finer control of braking than I was able to achieve
with either the Logi pedals or the ACT Labs Performance Pedals.

Much has been written about the build quality of ECCI products, so I won't
repeat this except to say that its hard to imagine TSW or Redline pedals
being any more solid than these. Also the number of possible adjustments
available to customize positioning and angles of the pedals is amazing. The
thought and engineering is immediately apparent.

All in all, its hard to imagine a better alternative than this Logi + ECCI
combo for a sim racer who wants FF. While I have read that Ball Racing is
coming out with a high quality FF wheel and pedals set, if history is any
indication, it will be far more expensive than the Logi + ECCI. There is the
Frex products, but with the exchange rate being what it is here in the US,
you better be prepared to dig deep. Also, from what I read the assembly
process for the Frex pedals requires quote a bit of time and effort. The
ECCI was very easy to setup out of the box.

If you have the funds available and want the ultimate FF sim racing
experience, grab one while they are still available.

Does that include the power as well, or do you still need the original pedal
under the desk to supply the power?

Still need the original momo pedals or as described below.  This is a snip
from John Pribble at ECCI when I asked just that.

"There is nothing in the Logitech pedals except a couple of pots, the FF
power socket, and some cabling. Of that, the only thing used by the 6000
pedals is the power socket and wires to it, the rest of the stuff is
bypassed and routed from the 6000 pedals. All of the "brains" and electrical
routing of the Logitech driving system are in the wheel. We do not recommend
using a metal housing to contain any of the unused wiring, a plastic one
would be much better (such as those available at consumer electronics stores
like Radio Shack). A metal container is a problem waiting to happen, and is
one reason why we plug through the Momo pedals instead of replacing them
completely. It is much safer to have the power supply terminating in the
plastic pedal housing rather than on the metal pedal unit.
The bottom line is that all you need to retain from the Logitech pedal cable
wiring is the power socket, and be very careful how you mount it so as to
avoid the possibility of an electrical short, and the ensuing damage to your
driving system and the potential fire hazard."

BTW this is for the momo Force (red).  In the Momo Racing the power is in
the wheel and uses a 9pin "D" connector.

thanks. website is blocked here at work :(

while I can see the point about power being in metal it dosen't help those
that are limited on space below the desk. :(

Well, you don't have to find a place to keep the (unused) Momo pedals just
for the wiring harness.  I have the surplus wiring terminated in a plastic
box from Radio Shack no more than 2x2x5".  As John sez, the only real trick
is in mounting the PS jack in the box (so to speak), and resin is easier to
work with than metal IMO.
