N3 no crash sound bug

Has anyone fixed the no crash sound bug in N3?  All other sounds work.
Call it a bug because others have same problem, Installed directX 7
and it didn't fix it. running a PIII 450 with yamaha sound DS GX,
128m ram ,Bla bla bla, Like game but it's S.O.S with hard ware and
software!

I had the same problem, couldn't solve it
and bought a MX300 and never looked back :-)

I have the same problem but have not discovered a fix.

Maybe a SoundBlaster card would fix it. I have a SBPCI64 and
don't have this problem. So much for DirectX being the "end all"
solution for the gamers sound and video problems.

I get crash sounds if I use the 8 bit selection.
