I guess i like a challenge but i keep messing with the BRM trying to get it
faster!!! In races i use the Eagle which is about a second faster (at leas
right now)  I know this seems odd but ive found a way to make the BRM VERY
competitive, well at Monza anyway.  Its a trick devised by american oval
racing.  Dont use 6th gear!!!  Instead set it up as an overdrive gear and drive
with only 5 gears.  I havent tried at other tracks yet but my laptimes with
this car have gone from a 1:34.xx to a 1:32.xx.  My fastest lap so far is a
1:31.79 with this car but im getting better.  If anyone else tries this idea

setups for Spa and Silverstone with this car and ill keep u posted on my
progress.

Not to mention how much easier the BRM is to control :-}

I don't dispute the results, but do you have any theories on why not using
6th gear would make the car go faster?  Is it just the actual time spent
shifting gears?

Thats one reason i think it helps.  Plus i think it might reduce strain on the
engine (i think thats modeled into the game) in a longer run.  I really have no
definate answers.  I just got a brilliant idea and tried it.
