19,200 on a v.90 modem

I was hoping someone could tell me how to set my v.90 modem to run at 19,200
with a command in the extra settings field. I have a Phoebe pci fax/data
modem with v.90 and can't set it any lower than 28,800. I have tried to use
the commands that are on the manual but can't get it to work properly. When
I used my old generic modem(isa) I had it set to 19,200 and seldomly had
problems on Ten. With my new modem ,I'm lucky to get an ok(blue flag)
connection. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks

Hi Jesse,

Just a shot in the dark, but can't you use the generic modem drivers
as supplied with Win 9x?

That would probably work if it were a WIN9x Connect.  Isn't it a DOS
program?

If the commands are not in your modem's literature, you may find it through
online support or on a tech hotline for your modem's maker.

No.  The TEN front-end is Win95 based...

V.90 modems have S-Registers that control the minimum and maximum
connect rates.  You will have to look in the manual for right S-Reg's
and set them.

If they are not in the manual, check their web site.  Sometimes
manufacturers put the really geeky stuff on their web sites instead of
putting it in the manuals, where folks can get into trouble with the
info :)
