Find it hard to believe that Best Buy and CompUSA has this title a
week before EB. What's up with that?

So how is the in-truck vision in Leadfoot? Concerned that with the
tight turns in stadium racing you might need to run this one from a
different viewpoint. Driving outside the***pit view just seems
arcadish to me.

Does this game have a good framerate on your system, and what kind of system
specs do you have ?
Also, do the tracks have ruts and other irregularities to deal with ?

Just got back from Best Buy.
Got a copy of LEADFOOT for 20 bucks.

All I can say is WOW!
This feels like GPL in DIRT.
Take SODA,  the jumps of Motorcross Madness 2, Add options up the
butt, then add nice graphics and you have LEADFOOT.

The jumps alone will make your stomach flip.

I would rather see some National type races than just the indoor stadioum
races, but I guess thats what this game is all about. The only thing I dont
like is no shot of the track when choosing which track to rasce at next, and
the track design is a ittle behind what actual sadium races are like. . Fun
game just cant expect a-ton for $20.

Defiently more of a first impression menard, and the Offline races do
indeed show a shot of the track (kinda). There are some more outdoor looing
tracks I guess I should open the manual...    Just wanted to not that there
are many good things about this sim, especially for $20

LOL okay I'm struggling.  One side of my tells me "well what the heck it
could be fun for 20bucks" but on the other it somehow goes "Cmon Frank, SODA
is still quite fun, why waste 20$ on tracks that are like that"..

Ahhhhh eternal struggle ;-D

The only problem with Ratbags games is that if I play on a LAN with someone,
we are the only 2 cars on the track. With DTR and DTR Sprints you can not
have AI cars in a LAN game. If this has not changed I'll have to pass.

I raced w/ 8 tonight through GameSpy Arcade, all drivers had pings under 250ms. Ultra Light buggies are alot more fun than the trucks on these smaller trax. Sense of speed is nice. Gearing is tough. How many clutches you guys run? Multiplayer is excellent.

It is a fun game but it's no GPL in dirt, one BIG bad point is the cars jump
wrong that type of racing a bit like super/motorX is as much about driving
the cars in the air as much as on the ground. In Leadfoot this is just
missing if you press the throttle while in the air the front end should come
up if you brake it should go down but in Leadfoot nothing happens, I don't
want to sound picky but this is a big miss. Apart from that it is good fun
but imo games like Rally Masters have far better physics.

I definetly agree w/ this. Brakes should affect it too.

Really? Not challenging, but I just don't get the physics of why
accelerating or braking has ANY effect on a car not in contact with
the ground. I could see engine torque playing a part in causing the
car to rotate obliquely on its axis a bit while airborne, but nothing
else. I raced dirt years ago (anyone remember Bultaco?) and can tell
you that unless somethings changed, the only thing you could do when
airborne was shift your weight to keep the bike right for landing.

More curious than anything else..

Watch any modern MotoX or Supercross racing.  Those guys alternate between
stopping the front wheel in the air or the rear depending on how and where
they want to land.  Using the brakes should have a very big impact on the
inflight attitude of the car.  After all, you have 4 very large rotating
masses on a car, the gyroscopic effects of these spinning wheels is pretty
tremendous.  soo stopping that rotation via the brakes should make a
profound difference.
  Oh yes...I remember Bultaco's  and Maico's and Husky's.  I got to ride
another Spanish marque..I think it was a Montessa...whoooo!
