SoundCard Problems on TEN

Has anyone out there had problems with the soundcard locking up
(ie.  High pitched WAWAWAWAWAWA) after the connection on TEN is
tested.  I am using a ESS1868 Card.  WIN95 is showing no conflicts.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated

That will always happen if you have your joystick plugged into the wrong
port.

That sound you're hearing may just be your wife. I had the same
problem and I thought it was my sound card. After some careful
troubleshooting I found it to be the War Dept (my wife) getting upset
because I was on the computer again.  You may want to check her IRQ
and DMA settings, if that doesn't work you probably have your joystick
plugged in the wrong port.

LOL!!!

Seriously though... I was having sound problems and found it to be the .wav
files that my "The Pits" Windows 95 theme was causing.  Every action has
some kind of phrase from the Nascar 2 game.  By going into Windows 95
Control Panel, then into Sounds, I was able to disable all those
phrases/sounds and my sound problem went away!

Good luck!
