It is only that fast at VESA 2.0 resolutions. I'm not sure if Nascar
or GP2 use these VESA modes.

Here's a new one (I hope). I have read that the rendition cards will
speed up SVGA performance but will not do a thing for regular 'ol VGA
games, namely Nascar 1.
So the question is, what if someone runs Nascar 1 under SVGA mode,
will the graphics speed up be a great increase? What about GP2? Right
now with GP2 to get a really good framerate with my P133 I run in VGA
with most of the textures. Will the rendition cards make a big
improvement running that on in SVGA?

Running Nascar 1 in svga mode works great with the Rendition. That mode uses
the VESA 2.0 which is built into the Rendition.
I found the Rendition to run GP2 (in high res) at least as fast as the Herc 128
that I replaced it with. I don't see any "big improvement" since there is
nothing in the games to take advantage of the Reactor hardware. VESA 2.0 is
built in though so DON'T run univbe....
