GPL, is there a digital timing program for it?

Im sick of waiting for the pitboard to come up in gpl to show me my lap
times
Is there a utility to allow for F1 type digital lap imformation running in
game?
I would make hot lapping so much more fun.

You can edit the track.ini file to move the pitboard to after the
start/finish line.  I can't remember the exact line but it was mentioned a
couple of weeks ago.  You could use www.remarq.com or www.deja.com to search
through back posts.

Cheers

I don't think anyone ever came up with coordinates for all the tracks.  Or
did they?  I never saw a solution for Watkins Glen for instance.  Someone
posted pitboard coordinates for only about half the tracks I think, and they
were using trial and error to figure out the rest, unless I missed
something.

Don't take this the wrong way, but if we're trying to simulate the 60s, you
shouldn't have that facility should you?

Using that line of reasoning you're in danger of falling into the DGF
conundrum which inevitably leads to "have you ever driven a 67 F1 car?"
Personally I think it's fine to mess with everything in GPL except driving
model.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't like a mod to add some downforce and make the
tyres wider, but that way lies madness, especially for online racing.
Why's that guy half a lap ahead after 1 lap? :-)

Is this a new attempt to thwart Surtees?  If so, does it work?

Hi Don
I will get round to working out the other track's,
but I've been having to much fun with GPL on my
new system.
I finally got rid of my old steam box of a P233MMX
V2 and
built me a Celery 533 V3 3000.
GPL's awesome now, I can finally race against the
AI instead of just hot lapping,
I've even tried a bit of on-line, but got to do a
bit more tweaking with DUN's and
stuff yet.
But I will work out the other track's, promise.
(said with everything crossed and firmly
biting tongue)

Mark

P.S. Before I get raided by the grammar police : )
I know my spelling and grammar are terrible.
Sometimes makes me wish I paid more attention at
school.

Hey Mark, glad you got some new gear and look forward to seeing you
online. Don't know if it's of any help but I realized that when you use
SpyGirl to make extract Spots for syncronizing replays, it generates a
number for the exact point where you raised your arm to mark the spot
and then records it in SpyGirl.ini under the track name. If these are
the same numbers that are used in the Track.ini files it might be a
useful way of finding the number for the pitboard spot, just a thought.
