TOCA and steering problem

by Gostal Arcelin, M.D » Fri, 12 Dec 1997 04:00:00

Thanks to the newsgroup I have been able to somewhat play the TOCA demo. I
have been using GP2 for the past couple of years, and I really enjoy these
simulations. I know that TOCA is more of an arcade game, but anyway...

I have a Thrustmaster "grand prix 1" and I am having alot of problems making
my steering wheel work properly in the TOCA demo. I have tried the various
settings. Does anyone recommend certain settings?

It is too sensitive, and I can hardly finish even one lap! In the windows
settings for joystick, I have a two button two axis label. When I try to set
it at the "thrustmaster t1/t2 without adapter" It says that that steering
wheel is not connected.

This is probably confusing the way I explained my problem, but I am late for
work!!!

Thanks,
Gostal

That's your problem right there...you can't select the "without adapter"
controller, since your GP1 wheel has the adapter effectively built in.

The "without adapter" is only for T1's and T2's built prior to approx.
November 1996.  The adapter makes these wheels work like a joystick.
