I have touring car championship installed which
runs fine using the standard video driver which
came with the game.  I have since installed the
3Dfx patch.  Now when I run the game with the new
.exe (which permits 3Dfx), the game will ONLY run
if I have selected 'keyboard control.'  If I
select joystick control or use a T2 steering
wheel, the game will not pass the first screen -
it locks up.  Seems the problem is relating to the
control input?  Any ideas please.

I have -
- TM Topgun and T2 steering wheel setup - which I
can't get to work;
- Pure 3D card & Diamond Stealth 2000 3D card;
- Cyrix 166 chip;
- Vibra 16 soundcard which I use for device input

there is a patch now to 1.1A (note the A, second patch release). it is said
to "fix a joystick
problem".

Exactly what 3dfx patch are you refering to???.

Where do you get the new exe for 3dfx???

Sounds like a Direct3D issue.  Try reinstalling DirectX 5.
