Yeah, SCGT is great fun, maybe not pure sim, but certainly not arcade
either. Be sure to get the updates available at the GT Insider site
http://www.racesimcentral.net/***.com/ , however, before you leave the shop with
your new machine, pick up a copy of Grand Prix Legends. You won't be sorry.

Can someone tell me about this game?

Is it a sim or a game?

Does it support Voodoo3?

Is it good?  The box looks pretty good.
Haven't been into sim racing lately since I can't get ICR2 working
with my new(er) computer.  Buying another computer tomorrow (Cel 466
w/voodoo3 + 128megs) and can hardly wait to run GP2 with as many
graphics on as possible.

Speedy,

As much as I know about such things, SCGT looks and feels like a sim to me.
It in no way resembles something like NFS or Ultimate Racing.  I resembles
something like Viper Racing.  I have both, and do think SCGT is better.
Even though the readme says there is no internet racing in this game, there
is a TCP/IP address-to-address module that sure looks like internet play to
me.  In fact, SCGT's internet play is damn decent, better, I think, than
Viper.  If I had a choice between keeping SCGT or keeping Viper, Viper would
go.

The game does support voodoo 3, as far as I know.  I use my TNT2 card, which
runs very well, better than the game runs my Voodoo 2 card, which is a
first.

Nice game.  I would recommend it.  But then again I am not pretending to be
an expert on these matters.

IMHO it is a sim but not the caliber of GPL and Viper Racing( which I
believe are the top 2 "sims" in that order).  What I really like about
it is that it is just plain FUN to play.  Paul

Not a *** sim like GPL but not an arcade game, that's for sure.

I have a Voodoo3. Glide works but the game runs much better in D3D.

I quickly tried running GP2 with my new computer... it is:
Intel Celeron 466
ABIT Motherboard
SB64 PCI
Voodoo 3 2000 Video card w/3dfx
128MB

I ran it shortly and it seemed to work pretty good with all graphics
turned on.  I'll run a quick race around Silverstone and Monaco and
let you know.

I had all the graphics turned on.

When I loaded in Silverstone, the OP bounced between 100-110% when
waiting on the starting grid.  Not too bad.  I can live without a
couple of the graphics.

Monaco was another story of course.  The OP bounced between 140-150%
when sitting on the starting grid.

Comp USA or Best Buy.  I've seen it in both stores in the past couple of weeks.
If your local stores don't have it, they *should* be able to order it for you.
Do stores still give personal customer assistance anymore...?

the game exists.... even though they had it on their shelves several
monthes ago.

http://www.outpost.com has it as well as http://www.dragon.ca. Dragon's,
though, is currently out of stock of GPL. I already told them to cancel my
order.
