Nascar2 Help

by Gordon Loveda » Wed, 15 Apr 1998 04:00:00

I have been running N2 on a 300MHZ PII for some time now, but recently
N2 has started to skip and I notice the HD access many times during
play.

I re-configured the shortcut to run in MS-DOS mode, which runs smooth
but it takes forever for the game to load between screens.

Does anyone have any suggestions why the game suddently started
hesitating while running in windows???
Thanks.

I was recently having the same problem during multiplayer games on kali.
Then my computer crashed during a race as happens quite frequently but I
could not get it to boot back up. To make a long story short I ended up
reformatting my c: drive and the hard disk access problem has gone away. By
the way I have my hard drive partioned into three drives and N2 is on my E:
drive. I did not touch the D or E drives only the C as that is where win95
is located.

Its a drastic step but if you are noticing any other unusual behaviors
with win95 or if you have Internet Explorer I'm confident a reformat and
reinstallation of the operating system and web browser will correct the hard
disk access problem.

My system is a 90Mhz pentium overclocked to 100Mhz (I tried going back
to 90Mhz with no success) 40Meg of ram ,a 1.6 Gig hard drive and a double
speed cd rom. (I know its a dinosaur, I'm waiting for N3 to come out before
I upgrade)

Uh, try defragmenting your hard drive before you go and reformat it.
It might save you a lot of trouble.
