NASCAR2 - HELP!

I'm having a helluva time just driving N2.  I have a couple of hundred
thousand miles on N1 tracks so I don't consider myself a rookie, but I
can't drive down the backstretch at Tally without bouncing off the
walls.  I'm using a T2 that Santa brought me, but steering just seems
WAY too sensitive.  I welcome any and all suggestions.

Make sure steering help is OFF (this is probably not the problem here,
but in general, turn that "feature" off)

Set your controls for "joystick" (even though you have a wheel) This
will cause the less sensitive controller curve to be used

(This is the old "linear [wheel]" vs "non-linear[joystick]" deal. In
the past, we had bazillions of customers calling to ask what the hell
linear and non-linear meant; so we changed it, and now people assume
[reasonably] that they can't use the other checkbox...)

DM... try lowering your wheel lock.  I used to run (some time back) a
15 degree wheel lock.  Now, I use a 5 degree wheel lock... gives you
alot of play in the wheel, but will take some time to get used to.
Very hard to avoid accidents close ahead, but at almost 200 mph...
it's going to be tough anyways!

Turn the steering lock down. If that doesn't help try switching from
linear to non-linear steering.

hope this helps,

Three suggestions:

1. Turn down your wheel lock to 5 degrees
2. Make sure you have steering help turned off
3. If neither of those does it, try turning on "Joystick" in the Controls
page. This is the "Non-linear steering" setting from NASCAR 1 and makes the
steering less sensitive in the center of travel.

Well...

1) Check your wheel lock setting.  Higher numbers produce more sensitivity
and possibly more control problems.

2) Santa brought me a T2 also, musta been a sale somewhere :).  The doc
indicates that using a game port on a combo card (like my SoundBlaster 16
compatible) may cause erratic control problems.  I wasn't having problems
(yet) but did install one of their "ACM Game Cards".  I got it for less
than $35 at my local Best Buy.
