There are problems with the implementation of some of the rules, however, I
have never seen the situation you describe and I have had dozens of races on
F12K. I ask again, are you running the AI at 100-120%? If not, try it.

I agree, but nevertheless, if you are interested in enjoying in a better
racing experience - which after all is what we all want - then use the
patches and fixes rather than just criticising EA all the time.

Voodoo3's can run windowed. The Voodoo 1 and 2's can't.
( I run F1 2000 windowed on my Voodoo3)

I thought the AI strength sliders were to match the computer cars to the skill
of the player?  What happens if 100% is too fast?  Sure, they might not crash,
but then they might rocket off into the distance.  Sounds like a no-win
situation...  I'm glad I haven't bought it yet...

But should the AI *really* be spinning and craching on the PADADE lap???  Even
if the opp. level was 50%, that really shouldn't be happening...should it?

In theory, yes you're right.  There are problems with the AI in F12K. At
lower levels they do pretty silly things at times, but they need to be set
up 100-120% to give the real simmer a race challenge though.

Obviously it shouldn't be happening. Duh. That is why I turn the
parade lap off. It isn't really a parade lap anyway, you just watch
replay type views anyway.

To be honest I think the AI is way too easy to beat at 100 %, but there are
AI patches for Spain and Spa (possibly more by now), they are a lot faster
than the standard AI and a lot better behaved.
Can't remember where I got them from off-hand but it was one of the well
known sites.

F1 2000 revisited.

Running the AI at 115% is good for me.  I can keep up but passing is tough -- as
it should be :-)

At Spain, I was running a quick race and more downforce than the AI so one guy
kept passing me at T1, but I would overtake him between T3/T4 because I could go
into T4 faster.  This went on for a few laps.

The only patch I need is the one to make the AI respond faster (IE moving the
response from 0.75 to 0.65).

BTW: I host a couple races on Wednesday Nights at 11:45pm EDT to 12:15 or
12:30pm EDT.  Join the ICQ Active List for F12k Online so we can chat before the
race :-)  or email me from my CSP page (link is on the bottom of the page).

Jason.
