A check of the NASCAR traffic of late on rec.autos.simulators would show
that recently discussions of IndyCar Racing II and GrandPrix II have
shown a greater increase than NASCAR topics.  The rise and fall of a
particular simulator's discussion appears to be based on the release of
said product.

Second point to be made is at present the NASCAR simulator software at
the moment is IBM based only.  There have been no plans announced for a
near future release of Papyrus's NASCAR Racing for any other platform.

        It is intended that rec.autos.simulators.nascar would provide a
forum where
        people could discuss NASCAR automotive simulation software
        irrespective of the platforms on which it runs, and that
abstract
        technicalities of such software could also be discussed.

        Email I have received, plus discussions in various newsgroups
        (rec.autos.simulators) and on the SIMACR and HAWAII racing
        circuits has made it clear that such a group would be
        welcomed by many usenetters.

Charter
-------

This newsgroup will be used for discussions of NASCAR simulations of
Winston Cup and Busch Grand National Racing, irrespective of the
platforms
on which said simulation are supported. Topics will include
(but are not restricted to):

o       NASCAR and NASCAR II.

o       Platform-dependent characteristics of such a simulation (as a
        convention, it is suggested that such discussions list the
        platforms in the subject header, e.g.,

        Subject: [ibm-pc,sun] Blog's Yugo simulator

o       Design and implementation issues of such a simulation.

o       General discussion of racing series simulations.

0       Discussion of Internet (Hawaii) Racing and Modem Leagues.

It sounds good, but if your going to do it for NASCAR, you are going
to have to do it for all big simulator programs. I dont know if there
are enough messages for NASCAR to warrant a new group.  As someone
said in a previous memo, It seems to get bombarded with messages when
a new product comes out such as HAWAII and GP2 is the hot program now.  
It will be NASCAR2, Road Rally, and Starting Grid in the fall.

Most of the messages are usually indications that the paticular area
has received the program and quick reviews.

I wish this newsgroup would be more objective with their remarks,
which most are, and not just aggravate other people. This group for me
has solved alot of my problems before I even bought the product. I
hope we dont loose our great technical help we have on board from the
support people from the companies who produce these great programs.

Its up to the vast majority if we want to seperate the simulators into
seperate news groups.
