I've been trying to use an "older" NT machine as a dedicated GPL server,
using a DSL connection. My GPL version is 1.2.
GPL starts and runs, but when I get to the hosting screen, I only get com
ports as the connection alternatives, not the "TCP/IP node" that I get on my
win98 machine. Does anyone know of a good core.ini or server.ini file that
would work in this situation? Are there other solutions? As always, any
help would be appreciated.
I would like to use our DSL connection to run a dedicated server, because I
suppose it would yield pretty stable race hosting. My speed right now is
384k/128k (download/upload). I've been tempted to go for 784k/384k, but
that's tough on the old pocket ;-) Any war/horror stories about running GPL
on NT?
Specs on the server:
Asus P2B Mobo
64MB RAM
Pentium II 266
Creative TNT on DX6.1 (!)
Drive where GPL installed is a SCSI drive
Windows NT 4.0 Server with Service Pack 4
GPL is a fresh, full install patched to 1.2 (US)
Many thanks,
Luis
