I've already written to EA about this but won't hear back for 72 hours...

Can anyone play this game using a modem.  My original NFS worked flawlessly and
I was able to connect without a problem.  This new version will connect but drop
carrier 10-15 seconds after doing so.

Did EA rewrite the multiplayer portion of the code when they added networking?
Just curious to see if its just my 2 copies of the SE or if its a global issue..

While I can't speak for your 2 copies, I have raced many races with a
friend of mine over the modem. We are using NFS SE and having no problems
at all. Hope you get yours worked out.
