Uh huh. So, probably a bunch of people upgraded their CPU when GP2 came out
so you could get half-decent framerates with it. Cost? Say $200-500, depends
when. Nowadays, you can buy a 3dfx for $150 or less and get more bang for
your buck (heck, I'm still using a P133). So, which one had "insanely high"
req'ts for its time? And for a decent framerate, with both at near graphic
equality, which would cost more in upgrades to get it to to be
competitive now? So, go on and continue to buy the latest and greatest CPU to
play the next gen of games (this has always been the case). And don't buy a
3D accelerator that costs half as much, and gives you more. Makes sense to
me...
As soon as he learns how to program a game that doesn't fix framerate and
understands that some people like to race in REAL TIME.
