Anyway, by and large is there are some problems *implied* regarding the on
disk copy protection, and with graphics cards.
She said that some info should be up on the codemasters website by tomorrow
afternoon. (www.codemasters.com) was mentioned, not www.colinmcrae.com
Aside, i've been using my Riva 128 instead, and this game is awesomely
playable. Best rally sim ever- and for my money the most enjoyable driving sim
i've played in a long long time.

I'm soooo glad to read this, I'm been having a nightmare trying to get CMR
to work, I've yet to be able to get through to the helpine it just rings
and rings (I e-mailed them but no reply) but I'll take another look at
their web page tomorrow, thanks for the info.....
Seems that they are having a extensive problem it turns out with their CD
Check/Copy prot. Seem's the software is identifing original CD's as
copies/fakes, and refusing to run. Big old problem. Still lets hope they get
to the V2/DX6 Driver prolem shortly...

I wasn't aware of the CD problem, I would appear to have the V2/DX6 problem
(I'm using a monster 3dii card), it just crashes straight after running the
intro video......i wonder if putting DX5 back on would work? does it need
DX6?
Using DX6, is required, FYI.

I have Win 98 plus core DX6 drivers already (didn't install DX stuff from
CMR disc)
plus couple of weeks old Creative Labs V2 drivers - not sure whether to put
V2 Dx6
Beta drivers from Monday on in case they***everything up.
Game is great - even being a complete philistine and playing on the
keyboard,
I can get a really good skid going round a corner without spinning off all
over the
place like I used to on TOCA:)
