Papyrus CART Dead?

So sais Marck Nelson at Sim Racing News:

Papyrus CART Rumors
Reliable sources has informed SRN that Papyrus has scrapped the next
version of CART Racing, or as those in the software industry say "shelved."
If so, this may have been due to the lack of internal resources at Papyrus
(game designers, artists, etc.), and instead are concentrating on their
next NASCAR project (N3). This may also be the reason Papyrus is trolling
the news groups for play-testers. Nonetheless, this looks bad for American
open-wheeled sims from the guys who wrote the book. Bad, bad, bad Papy.

Say it ain't so Papy!!!

I heard that a 3dfx patch for CART Racing/IndyCar Racing II was on the way.
That would give it some new life... I don't have a Rendition.

Well, this news is here since a long-time, but it's was one of those
"un-official" rule ;-)

The title is almost 2 and a half years old, and I think that at some point
they would have to shelf Icr2. Like Nascar1 when Nascar2 when on the market
(And Hawaii been the last thing that officially make N1 in the shelves).

It's not a bad thing, just an evolution. There is a time when the company
have no interest anymore, and have to take a step anywhere else. Since we
all know that a CART simulator will be made after GPL, Nascar3 and maybe
Reno:AirRacer , we will maybe wait 1-2years more to see a better CART
simulator on the market.

Icr2 is dead, long live to Icr2 !!!

If you've heard it,,,I beleive you.  But I rather got the impression that
CART/ICR2 is toast.  Since they haven't even fixed the Rendition V2x00
snafu....do you really believe they would allocate resources to produce a
complete new patch....
If I was a betting man...I'd put $50 bucks on never seeing a 3dfx patch for
ICR2.

This has *NOTHING* to do with ICR2/CART...The rumor (and previous post)
was in reference to the *FUTURE* Papyrus CART title.  Where you guys
came up with ICR2/CART is a mystery to me.
