If there is one thing that is ruining this sim for me, it's the way the
inside AI cars will always smash into you coming out of T4 if you're high
outside. In watching the replays (helicopter view), I see the cars swing
right into me even though I'm hugging the wall, and it's always T4 where it
happens. Why can't the AI drivers see you there and avoid plowing into you?

I really think the AI needs some substantial work. The cars just seem to
hold their line with almost complete disregard for the presence of a human
driver. Any comments?

Yes, next time mention which game and which track you're talking about
:)
I assume N4.. The AI really has it's problems there. I hardly dare to
pass them on the low side, very often they just smack into me when I'm
on the low side. I agree, AI is not really good in N4 :(
Allthough it must be much harder to make a good AI for a Nascar game
than for GPL, with the close racing, pitstops and yellow flags..

Oops, asleep at the wheel again. I was referring to N4. I can't help but
think, how hard is it to have an AI car be aware of a car on the outside and
therefore avoid it? The problem seems to be especially bad at California,
although I notice it on every track.

Yes. I thought Nascar Heat was bad, but N4 is even worse. I can't
finish a rece because of it. Sometimes it's my fault too, but that's
due to lack of situational awareness.

I havent raced many tracks yet but I have run outside on Daytona & Tala
many races with no AI problems. Odd? I do run tightly against the wall in
all turns & straights tho'.. I wonder if that makes any difference in for N4
knowing where I am for the AIs?? Watchya think??

Yeah, it's like I said - How hard can it be to code an AI driver to see you
and avoid you. It's not like it's a quick, sudden move on my part. I
remember playing racing games 8 years ago that handled this with no problem.

You race around the entire track against the wall? Doesn't that adversely
affect your performance?

I have noticed that the problem is a little worse at California than at
Daytona. But it exists everywhere.

Sorry Brian I believe I did not make myself clear. I race many lines on the
two tracks {I have raced so far in N4} but I was addressing the issues of
the AIs seemingly slamming into you {the player driver} as "Jagg" posted.
So I was only saying *I can & do* race N4 {Offline} all the way around
3-wide without any problems on the outside as I *Hug the Wall* or shall
I say not yet at least..lol... I hope I've made this a "tad" clearer?..
Cheers Thom_j.

Yea, that may be it. I run the inside on the turns. That's where the

Again Jagg, I was only addressing your comment of AIs not winning but I do
win at 94% now on the oustide {on&off} but soon I will be cranking it up to
about 100% or more. Mostly I prefer online racing tho' Cya at the races! :o)

Shhhhh Maaki, Tim Wheatley, Alison H etc! They dont know me! hahaha

OK, I'll try N4 online one of these days. I used to play N3 online,
but I really did find there were more mishaps than by playing against
the computer AI. And the online races were too short too. I even
joined a league, but never made it to the actual races.
