I tried to run NASCAR 3 and recieved this error message after installing
my Diamond Viper 770 Ultra. "3dfxdll.dll failed to initialize, check
taht you have correctly functioning hardware and drivers. Defaulting to
software."

I installed the drivers and everything seems to be working okay outside
of NASCAR 3??? Once the game is selected, I can select 3DDirect,
restart the game and it runs okay (but one thing I did notice while
playing was that the frame rate never went about 18 fps even though it
appeared that I was getting more than 18 fps.)

it looks like you tried to install the 3dfx rasterizer. YOU DO NOT
HAVE A 3dfx CARD! Make sure you run N3 in the D3D mode and be prepared
to limit some of the graphics to get the framerate up over 18fps
