Nascar Pro Problems Please HELP!!

by Jean-Pierre Venditt » Tue, 06 Oct 1998 04:00:00

I just bought a Nascar pro thrumaster steering wheel and cant set it up.  I
get a message saying something like joystick not connected.  If I go into
the calibration the buttons and brakes and gas respond but the actual
steering.  I do not know if it has anything to do win me running windows 98.
If anyone can help with this problems please help I m desperate to get the
damn thing running.  Please help  J-P

Nascar Pro Problems Please HELP!!

I couldn't get Win98 to recognize mine, either.  I tried downloading
ProPanel, but it gave me some strange results and I found out it's
supposedly Win95 only.

I ended up adding a custom controller, 2 axes, 4 buttons, and Is a
Race Car controller (this is with pedals combined).  I added a
different custom controller, 3 axes, 4 buttons, and Is a Race Car
controller and I checked the Rudder/pedals box on the properties sheet
(this is with separate pedals).  It was a real pain to get it to work,
but it is rock-solid now, with no drift or play.  Much better than I
had before in Win95 with a Sound Blaster AWE 32 (I now have the
Diamond Monster MX-200, which has a digital gameport).

Hope that helps.

Nascar Pro Problems Please HELP!!

by Robert Eberhard » Thu, 08 Oct 1998 04:00:00

Every time I have problems getting Windows to recognize my Nascar Pro it is
because it is assigned to something other than ID #1. I have a switch box
with 2 joysticks and my wheel. If I get to messing around and assign my
wheel to ID 2 or 3 it won't be recognized. My solution was to remove all
joystick devices from the control configurer and start with my Nascar Pro so
it gets assigned ID #1.
