UK Pits - Thanks and So Long :(

Jed and Jan thank you for all your hard work and time you spent on making
and keeping The Pits one of the most useful and best looking Auto Sim
Sites on the Web.

Many of the utilities and carsets added greatly to the playability and
prolonged enjoyment I got out of the sims.

I'm sorry the immature idiots finally got to you Jed, regardless of the
amount of work you put in there will allways be those idiots who will never
be happy and who don't know how to appreciate the hard work that goes into
making a place like The Pits, and the utilities that people like Gerhard
have put out.

As far as the people who have ripped off the utilities and content of sites
such as The Pits I personally refuse to visit their sites, and I know of at
least one recent site announcement here on r.a.s. in particular that won't
be seeing my visit. I hope others will do the same.

Finally my thanks to Jed, Jan, Michael, Tony, John and all the other
hard working people here on r.a.s. that willingly give up their free time
to make our enjoyment of these sims that much better, I hope you can somehow
filter out the idiots, and not let their ignorant comments and e-mail get
you to the point to where you don't enjoy what you do. The majority of us
here are very greatfull for all your hard work, though sometimes we are too
quiet compared to the loud idiots.

Cheers.

I actually got e-mail today from someone claiming that I had a hidden
agenda to be everyone's spokesman and to eventually destroy free
speech on the Internet because of what I wrote in SRN this month, as
well as being involved in the r.a.s. split discussion.  Man, some days
I feel like throwing in the towel and taking a loooooooooong vacation
with the money I usually spend on the site.. <G>

Well, for my part what I do is rarely fun, but it's nice to know that
it's at least appreciated.  Thanks, John!

One of these days we'll all need to get together and compare kill-files.
I'm sure it would be an interesting comparison! How about a "kill-file"
chart on a web page, graphing which people have been deep-sixed by most
people? A minor form of fame perhaps?

Time is my only enemy, I tend to filter pretty well myself (water off a
duck's back and all that). Thanks for the comments though, especially
when you provide something for nothing it is VERY reassuring to know
that what you're doing is good and appreciated. Being paid it is so much
easier to know, the money will simply stop!

Cheers!
John

Well I always suspected you were trying to takeover the world ;-)
<that's a smiley for the humour impaired>

And I thought your article in SRN was pretty deadon about what has happened
here lately. People have to learn some tact... there's a difference between
constructive criticism and worthless flaming. Regardless how mad we may be
at a company we have to realize that their representatives here are just normal
people with feelings, and often don't make the company policies.

Don't throw in the towel yet Tony, that might make the Nascar-only extremists
come back out of hiding and ruin all the progress we've had on the RFD, r.a.s.
needs ya.

Cheers.

Should I say that I was also tapped by NASCAR to get "The Call" to win
this week at Bristol? <G>
