When ever you are after a patch for any Sim.  Always start at the site
of the people who made the Sim.. i.e. Papyrus.. http://www.pay.com (I
think that's the right URL)

After re-reading that, and thinking about
N1/N2/NTrucks/Nbush/N99/N3/N3Trucks/N3Legends.../../  I think that that
mistake may actually be right after all.. pay the full price for 1/10th
the product and pay the full price for each add-on till you finally get
the whole product. ;-)

Those that think Sierra is behind all this have to be nuts.  Papy is
behind it!  My reasoning is who would be dumb enough to allow such a
thing.  Maybe the same person who signed the contract with TEN to make
everyone pay to play something that could be done on a free service
anyhow(?)  What makes me sick is that I paid for that service for a full
year before I figured it out.

If Papy is not the one behind it, then Papy signed a contract with the
devil and is no longer, or will ever be again, Papyrus.

After reading another post about rebates.. If "Sierra" gives rebates to
those that paid for N3.. Then it would be worth it to release the same
sim several times under a different name.

N3 Online Patch

It is SIERRA's fault.  They just want to cash it, but the NROS was not
profitable as a business.  It could if they changed their vision, but they
choose to simply drop the project. Blame them and only them for lack of
support, lack of add-ons, etc..

I think after all the time you've passed here you would had already
understood that it's not Papyrus but SIERRA ;(     Of course if SIERRA never
bought Papyrus they would probably not exist anymore, but that's the way it
is and we have to accept it.  For 3milking money products Papyrus has to
create to LIVE and EAT, there will be a gem.

Plus the fact, if Papyrus put out "Sewer Trout Racing" we'd probably buy that too...

I have a hard time with this "NROS was not profitable".

If you are privy to some information we are not, it would sure help your
case :)

$20 a month, times thousands, is a lot of money to keep some servers on
line.  If a full-service ISP can do it, I don't see how NROS couldn't be
profitable.

Not to mention all the other games that were 'chipping in' to the cause,
monetarilly.

Of course, if the CEO, or da man in charge, or the 'round-table gang' was
sucking up all the money in salary and bonus's, then failure was imminent.

SOMEBODY made money.

It was a complicated thing.  Sierra milked much... some would say half of
that 20$ per month.  You after need to pay the employees, the hardware, the
server architecture, the furniture, and the office.  All of that from about
a 3000-driver base group.

Everybody lost money, except the greedy SIERRA.  Why cancel it ? No idea,
it's their fault totally.

$300,000.00 a _month_ couldn't cover it?  Not to mention the _other_ game
players on TEN?

Sorry, I don't get it :)

Unless the suits at Sierra really _were_ taking all the profits.  That
certainly is believable.

Must be that new math again. <G>  If you're looking at a base of 3,000
racers, you wouldn't see $300,000.00 per month unless every one of them was
paying $100.00 per month.  If I remember correctly, that wasn't the monthly
fee. <G>

Not new math, BAD math :)

CORRECT Math = $60,000 :)

That's still a lot to keep a few servers running...
