ICR2 on a prehistoric computer

Greetings from the land of the Pentium-challenged.  I am still soldiering
on with a 486-33.  Call me crazy, but I just can't justify upgrading for the
sake of playing games.  It's ironic that my computer is still more than
adequate for CAD and FEA work, but can't run the latest games.

My question: what is ICR2 like on a 486-33.  I have heard that the frame
rates have improved.  Is this true across-the-board.  I can get 15fps on ICR I
if I turn off all the texture maps.  Will I get 15fps or better (in VGA mode)
on ICR2 if I run in a similarly low-detail mode?  Oh, the 15fps is only
during practice laps.  I have always found ICRI so jumpy during a race that
I just use the game to blast around Laguna on my own, or against one other
driver in a "grudge match" but have to slip back to F1GP for some fast
racing.

Let me know before I waste $80.

I was just on Microprose's web site and the available now page listd GP
manager as available.  I just hope that this is true.  I was unable to
verify if this is true or not, but if it is please psot a review as
soon as possible.
