Microprose have not developed any patches for gp2, and you cannot have
wet weather in gp2.

There are various patches/editors etc available from other sources which
update graphics, car performance, season info, etc.
These are available from most good gp2 web sites.

There are rumours that Microprose, Geoff Crammond, and a development team
are working on gp3, but as yet there are no official confirmations of
this.

But I believe GP3 will be Win95 only.  :-(

Any good programmer understands that it is absolutely impossible to
write a good racing sim for Win95. For real realtime software (like a

Suppose you get one just when you want to shift down twice fast
or so. Or when you are just about to steer into some heavy chicane.
In racing it's all about correct timing of your actions.
If they go with this Win95 hype, GP3 will be a total no-no to me.

(BTW, why I call a racing sim real realtime software : those hickups
   do actual harm.
For realtime games like Red Alert they don't do that much harm, but
they suck and irritate non the less.)

I totally agree with this.  However, I have read on this newsgroup that
the hiccups are caused by having the TCP/IP protocol on a LAN card, and
that eliminating TCP/IP will get rid of the hiccups.  Another
alternative might be to race/play games using a Win95 hardware profile
that doesn't have your network card in it.

I haven't tried these workarounds yet.  Any confirmation of this either
way?  If the hiccups are still there, forget about GP3, MS CART
Precision Racing and any other sims that run under Win95 exclusively.
